Monday, January 22 - Opening Evening Dinner Reception, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Professor Ring is one of the world's foremost experts on thermology, the application of infrared imaging to human medicine. He will focus this session on protocols but will also have room to discuss other, related topics. While the short course might be of interested to anyone using the technology, it is intended primarily for practicing thermologists and medical personnel interested in the topic.

The insurance industry in Canada has found a new tool in its attempt to reduce losses in large commercial and agricultural buildings. Many insurance based risk management or loss control programs now include a thermal inspection of the electrical and mechanical systems as a standard part of their operating procedure when inspecting buildings such as confinement barns and grain mills.

During this presentation, the challenges and successes of one of Canada's leading reinsurance companies will be discussed with an emphasis on their development of an insurance based infrared training and qualification program, biosecurity concerns, safety concerns, and the struggles they have faced during the startup of their program.
