Airborne Ultrasound
Airborne Ultrasound, which utilizes frequencies above the normal range of human hearing, is a valuable and effective tool in all predictive maintenance programs, including compressed air leaks, vacuum leaks, bearing faults, bearing lubrication and electrical arcing, tracking, and corona. Ron will talk about how is easy the technology is to use in predictive maintenance programs.

Motor Management: "Do you know where your motors are?"
One of the first, basic steps of a motor program is identifying unintentional misapplication of a motor. When the motor design doesn’t match the operating parameters, motor failure results. Elmer has years of experience in this field and will share the simple, but powerful, lessons he’s learned about identifying the correct motor for the application so it performs reliably and efficiently.

Online Motor Testing
A relative "new comer" to the realm of predictive maintenance, online motor testing provides an expedient, non-intrusive means of observing power quality, localizing faults—both upstream or downstream—and determining if problems are electrically or mechanically induced. Don will be sharing his extensive experience so that, through routine data collection and trending, you too can identify such issues as eccentricity, rotor defects, developing connection or winding faults, mechanical faults such as coupling problems, belt tension, bearing defects, misalignment and many other drive train anomalies.

Thermography: An Invaluable Tool for R & D
When you talk to him, it will not surprise you that, even after thirty-six years as technologist for Hydro-Quebec Research Institute, Jacques remains very enthusiastic about the possibilities of infrared imagery for R&D work. Come and share his vast experience using infrared in numerous, exciting research projects, especially those oriented toward electric utilities.

Alternative Motor Testing Methods
Charlie will demonstrate alternative testing methods including: Megohm meter, digital low resistance ohmmeter (DLRO) and an RLC bridge. Most of these technologies have been incorporated into modern MCA equipment. These alternative methods allow for a deeper understanding of the analysis necessary for successful motor diagnostics.

How Does Infrared Fit Into a Condition Monitoring Program?
While thermography is a remarkable technology, it cannot provide a full return on the investment unless it is embedded in a functional Condition Monitoring program. It is critical to understand what foundational elements are needed to support a successful infrared program and there is no one in the industry more suited to discussing these issues than Roy. Find out if your program has these elements and, if so, how do they compare to industry Best Practices.

The Impact of the Motor Application on MCA Online Data Analysis
When performing spectral analysis of online motor circuit analysis (MCA) data, the specific motor application may severely limit the ability to make a solid interpretation in many cases. Jack will talk about these issues and any others you may be interested in that are related to online MCA.

Communications for Personal & Professional Success
The ability to effectively communicate is a critical element to everyone's personal and professional success. Whether communicating with a family member, friend, or business colleague, your ability to skillfully discuss issues, problems, and/or differing perspectives determines how people respect, listen, and follow you. This expert session will provide tools and tips you can easily utilize to resolve conflicts, positively influence others, and facilitate constructive conservations. Come to this booth and learn about IROD, The Five Star Points of Integration, QD x C x AE = R, annual communication plans, the invisible drives the visible, and more. We look forward to communicating with you.

Creating Thermal Image Mosaics
Often infrared cameras either do not have the field of view or the resolution to allow us to properly evaluate the nature or severity of the problem. For large surfaces, such as commercial buildings, boilers or furnaces, you either have to get too far away or use a wide angle lens, in both cases sacrificing spatial resolution in order to see the entire Field of View. The answer is to create a high-resolution thermal map or mosaic out of a number of images. Greg will give you simple tips and techniques and show you how easy and quick it is to create mega-pixel thermal maps from multiple low resolution images using his program of choice, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Offline Motor Diagnostics: Trending and Analysis for alternating current (AC), 3-phase, non-synchronous motors
We all know motors drive industry, now come find out what drives motors! Motors have certain characteristics—capacitance, inductance, and resistance—that can be monitored to indicate overall health and predict the likelihood of failure. You’ll find few people who can match Jayson’s enthusiasm and experience for discussing what these values are and what they tell us about the motor.
